Catedral Señora de la Anunciación- Santo Domingo

On our day off in the Dominican Republic we visited the Catedral of Señora de la Anunciación, which is the first Church of the Americas! The architecture of this cathedral is one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. The Gothic style mixed with the white stone honestly took my breath away. These pictures aren’t great, considering that I took them with my iPhone, but hopefully you can still see a little bit of what I’m talking about!

I remember sitting in the Blessed Sacrament chapel with tears in my eyes and just thinking “this is the role of beauty – this affective response that moves the heart towards praise and love of You.”
