Mission Trip DR – A Walk in My Shoes

I’m so grateful that Liz, one of my fellow missionaries, captured this video of our daily walk from the school back to our volunteer house! We absolutely loved our walk to and from school each morning. By the end of the week we truly felt that not only did we know the barrio, but that we were a part of the barrio. Every person we passed offered us a friendly smile, hello and good day. Sometimes we would pass our students as they traveled to or from school and they would run up to us, hug us and hold our hands as we walked together. These walks are something that will stay with me, forever making me long for a simple lifestyle and quiet moments spent in community.
